Alternative Parking During the City's Leaf Sweep - Do not Get Towed

Alternative Parking During the City's Annual Leaf Sweep

The City of Portland has scheduled December 13th as the day the Sullivan's Gulch Neighborhood will have the streets swept for leaf removal. Information is available at the City of Portland's Bureau of Transportation's website (http://www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/article/363603) or by calling the City Leaf Line at 503-865-LEAF (5323), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gulch residents should mark this on their calendar NOW - move your car off the street on the evening of Thursday, December 12th so you don't get towed on the morning of Friday, December 13th during the annual City "clean sweep" leaf collection. The City starts early.

Alternative Off - Street Parking Available
at
Fred Meyer's Lot
&
at
Grace Memorial Episcopal Church

If residents do not have off-street parking available, SGNA, to help residents, has secured permission for residents to park overnight in either the Fred Meyer's parking lot or the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church parking lot between 8:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 12th to 7:00 PM Friday, Dec. 13th.

Grace Church requires no release form. The spaces fill up early.

Parking at the Fred Meyer's location will require a signed Waiver of Release form. In getting you to sign the Waiver, an SGNA Board member will give you a sign to place on your dash board recognizing you as a Gulch resident who has signed the Waiver. Lack of the evidence of having singed the Waiver or lack of compliance with the terms of the Waiver can also result in your car being towed from Fred Meyer's lot.

The Waiver of Release form can be signed, and the dashboard sign picked up at the following location, and dates and times only:
Where
1310 NE 24th Avenue
(the Dutch Colonial Duplex at the corner of  NE Wasco and NE 24th, the unit on the left)
When
Wednesday, December 11th, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Thursday, December 12th, 5:30 - 7:30 PM

There are a limited number of spaces at each location. If they are full, they are full and you will have to make other arrangements for your car. In 2011 a number of people in the Gulch had their cars ticketed and towed, claiming they hadn't seen the warning signs (posted 2 days before the pickup) or that they couldn't get their car started in the morning in time to avoid getting ticketed. Don't wait until the last minute, move your car the NIGHT BEFORE.

Another fabulous service of the SGNA Lifestyles Committee.
