- Grant Park Village continues to move toward completion, scheduled for Fall 2014
- New Seasons Market scheduled to open in November, with apartments and retail along NE Broadway to follow shortly thereafter
- NE 32nd intersection with Broadway will be redesigned with support for bikes, pedestrians, and full four-way turning movements
- Grant Park Sewer Repair begins this week; neighbors should be aware the city has granted a variance for nighttime construction around the intersection of NE 33rd and Broadway, though typical OSHA-required beepers on backs of trucks and such will not be used
2014 PARKS REPLACEMENT BOND TOWN HALL MEETING: ParksReplacementBond.org
- Commissioner Amanda Fritz was recently a guest speaker at the June Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods (NECN) Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. She announced at the meeting there will be a Town Hall Meeting to discuss a Replacement Bond to replace Portland’s last parks bond, passed in 1994. The existing bond will be paid off in 2015 and by continuing to fund parks at the rate required by the 1994 bond, the City of Portland can raise an estimated $56-$68 million in funding to address the most critical needs of the city’s park system. Commissioner Fritz stressed that there will be no tax rate increase associated with the Parks Replacement Bond issue.
- The Commission acknowledged that the announcement of a Town Hall Meeting does not give much notice, however please plan to attend:
