Leaf Collection Day Is Coming, Friday, December 14 - if you do not have a place to keep your car off the street - SGNA has arranged two off-street parking options

Leaf collection day is Friday, December 14 and vehicles left on the street will be towed so the city can do a "clean sweep" of leaves from the public right of way. This includes vehicles of those households that opted-out and are cleaning up the street in front of their house on their own.

Do not take a chance. Unless you are heading to work at 6 am on Friday morning, you would be well-advised to park in your driveway, garage or alternative location the night before. We do not know where in the neighborhood and when crews will start first and you don't want to find out to late! Cars will be cited and towed before you hear the noise from the heavy equipment to alert you.

Need a place to park your car on leaf collection day?  If you don't have a driveway or garage, SGNA has arranged for residents to be able to park in either of two off-street locations this year:
  • Grace Memorial Episcopal Church
  • Fred Meyer's Hollywood West
Each lot has special requirements listed below.

Grace Memorial Episcopal Church parking lot at NE 16th and NE Weidler

1.    Location - NE 16th and  Between NE Halsey/ NE Weidler
2.    Park in any space except the row closest to the church (east side of the lot).
3.    Approximately 40 spots are available.
4.    Parking is on a first-come first-served basis.
5.    Dates and times: 6 pm on Thursday, Dec. 13. Removed by 6 pm on Friday, Dec. 14.

Fred Meyer's Hollywood West parking lot

1. 40 spaces allocated for SGNA use
2. Park along the West and North edges of the lot.
3. Waivers of Liability must be signed in advance
4. Upon signing the Waiver of Liability, your license plate number, vehicle description, and contact info must be put into a LOG, you will be given a sign for your dashboard.
5. Copies of the signed Waiver of Liability and of the LOG will be given to FM management.
6. The dashboard sign must be displayed on the dashboard as instructed for the duration the car is parked in the lot.
7. If the dashboard sign is not in place, or the car is not removed by the appointed time your car may be towed by Fred Meyer's. Do not accept this alternative if you cannot remove the car by the appointed time.

The required Fred Meyer Waiver of Liability, the log filled in and the dashboard sign can only obtained at: 1310 NE 24th Avenue - the home of Britt Brewer, SGNA Board Member,
between the hours of -
8:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12th
 and
8:00 AM and 7:00 PM  on Thursday, December 13th.
No other locations or times will be made available to take advantage of this offer.  Fred Meyer staff does not have this information.

Be sure to follow the requirements for each location.  If spaces are filled, or you have not signed a Waiver of Liability and obtained a dashboard sign for the Fred Meyer location, you should park outside of the neighborhood (north of Broadway) or on the other side (south) of the Banfield/I-5 freeway.

Thanks go to Grace Memorial Church and Fred Meyer for their cooperation.  And special thanks to Britt Brewer for coordinating the the Fred Meyer parking process.
