City Leaf Collection set for December 14 — Parked Vehicles will be TOWED

Gulch residents should mark this on their calendar NOW - move your car off the street on the evening of Thursday, December 13 so you don't get towed on the morning of Friday, December 14. The cost of the leaf pickup is $15.

If you want to deal with your leaves yourself, you can opt out of the program 3 ways:
- fill out the form mailed by the city in early October
- online at this link, or
- by calling the city Leaf Line at 503-865-LEAF (5323), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The deadline for opting out is November 1. Even if you opt out of the program you still must move all vehicles parked on the street so the crews can get the job done efficiently.

Your neighborhood association is working on securing permission for residents to park in nearby parking lots and we will post further announcements about these locations when finalized.

Last year a number of people in the Gulch had their cars ticketed and towed, claiming they hadn't seen the warning signs (posted 2 days before the pickup) or that they couldn't get their car started in the morning in time to avoid getting ticketed. Don't wait until the last minute, move your car the NIGHT BEFORE.

These pictures show the before after results of the "clean sweep" on one block.

  1. Great post. I had no idea some towns had to pay for leaf collection. I still haven't heard anything about leaf collection in my town. Hopefully I haven't missed it. Thanks so much for sharing, this is very interesting.
