First look at Albina Fuel Site Development

Birds eye view of phase I of Grant Park Village
concept from corner of NE 32nd and Broadway
as reviewed by the Portland Design Commission.
Oregonian reporter Larry Bingham has posted two articles about the Capstone Partners development on the old Albina Fuel site, next to Fred Meyer at NE 33rd and Broadway.  The development, called Grant Park Village, is now in Design Review and will likely get letters of support from the SGNA Land Use Committee. The project will be one of the major agenda items on this Tuesday's SGNA Board meeting (Aug. 14 at 7 pm at Holladay Park Plaza).

Grant Park Village is phase I of a possible three phase development of the 5 acre site.  At the present the first phase will have 200+ rental units, ranging from studio to 3-bedroom and 45,000 square feet of commercial space, facing Broadway.

Capstone had their first meeting with the Portland Design Review Commission and you can see some concept drawings in their submittal packet (PDF) here.   Here's a link to his earlier Oregonian blog posting focusing on traffic issues.  A new traffic study is underway.
