Dislikes: amount of car traffic on Weidler b/t 16th and 24th -- is there any way to make Broadway 2-way starting at 14th or 15th? (and Weidler 2-way with some parking?) Wouldn't Broadway Business Association support that?
Dislike the curve at 24th/Weidler where there is no consideration for pedestrians and cars periodically crash into the building at the end of the street. Couldn't there be a flashing yellow? And/or pedestrian stripes with a walk light?
We like living close-in to downtown, access to public transit, nice little cafes and everyday sort of restaurants. We love our converted condominium at Regal Court. It is old and charming but has been well cared for and improved. The older buildings and houses give the Gulch real warmth and charm. We wish there were a few more live music venues in our neighborhood but it is a very short trip to find many in other neighborhoods. We don't look forward to losing the Free Zone Max.
I'm new and thus far really love this neighborhood. It's convenient to a lot of shops and bars and feels safe to walk around. The only irritating thing is trying to turn left off of Broadway when heading west around 28th-24th. I've tried coming up with different routes to get home and avoid this, but with all the streets blocked at 28th, I can't figure out a way around it unless I go completely out of my way. Oh well.
