Sytrofoam Recycling and Paper Shredding Event for Earth Day

The Northeast Broadway Business Association (NEBBA) and Here we Go Again Deluxe Resale Boutique are sponsoring a Styrofoam recycling and Secure Document Shredding event April 21st in honor of Earth Day.

Clean, white Styrofoam blocks and bags or boxes of documents for shredding will be accepted on Saturday, April 21st from 9am-1pm at Jiffy Lube, 2025 NE Broadway (corner of NE 21st & Broadway). A suggested donation for shredding of $5.00 per box (or equivalent) will benefit NEBBA’s marketing fund, to help promote the Northeast Broadway district’s great variety of local businesses. Block Styrofoam will be accepted free, but donations are appreciated. Bagged Styrofoam packing peanuts will also be accepted.

Sensitive and confidential documents piled up under the desk? Bring them to be dropped into locked, secure containers, for convenient and safe shredding.

The recycle event offers a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning and easily get rid of hard to recycle Styrofoam that can’t just be dropped at the curb with other materials.

  2. Shredding and recycling for a cause. :) Paper shredding is something that we must do regularly; timing it with the celebration of Earth Day is definitely cool. Knowing that while you are making your personal and important documents breach-proof, you are also helping save the earth is satisfying.

  3. While I'm browsing most of the sites I observe that when it comes on the sizes most Paper Shredder/ paper shredders are not so big but one time I saw that a big shredder is bigger than a person so amazing huh!

  6. Great idea. I couldn't afford shredders when I was first starting out in business, and I don't imagine that self-employed people can either in their early stages. Now I use Russell Richardson shredding but I might still look for something like this in my area, every little helps!

  12. I would love to find a company around me that does document shredding. I have a bunch that need to be shredded. The sooner I can get them taken care of, the better. Are any other events like this going to be happening again?

  13. I think some people don't realize how important document shredding is. If there are papers with personal information on them, you need to do more than just throw them away. You need to shred it so your information is safe. http://mobileshred.net

  15. I have lots of things that need to be shredded. I was just going to get a personal shredder, but this sounds pretty fun. I'm with Lisa. Where is the next event? http://www.vitalrecordscontrol.com

  16. I think they should make an activity like this more often. I like tearing up old papers when I get stressed. It is a healthy way of letting out anger and stress instead of hurting myself or someone. I will have to check this out because it could really be a fun activity to do.

  17. It is unfortunate that I missed this event. I have two decades worth of sensitive tax documents in my office. Last year, all of our records were converted to digital form. There is no reason for us to keep the physical copies. I want to use a shredding service because you never know if a criminal will go through your garbage.
