| The City of Portland and Oregon Department of Transportation are hosting an open house on June 29th to showcase the current work of the N/NE Quadrant and I-5 Broadway/Weidler Plans and ask for feedback. This planning includes part of Sullivan's Gulch on the south side of NE Multnomah between 16th and 21st Ave. (where Residence Inn, apartments and rental houses are now). The SGNA Land Use Committee will be participating and is a voting member of the group, but everyone is welcome to participate. In addition to the inclusion of the 6 lots west of NE 21st and south of NE Multnomah (an area approximately 300 feet by 100 feet), a significant part of the Gulch, the N/NE Quadrant Project also incorporates Regal Lloyd Cinemas 10, the parking lot west of the Cinema, and Holladay Park, our own neighborhood park. The attached map shows the scope and boundaries of the project. As with any time when your neighbors are planning big developments, especially when incorporating some of your own neighborhood, it pays to participate and to pay attention. This project will help areas of troubled development and growth that will define the city's center, on the east side of the river, and north of the Banfield for generations, and significantly affect "life in the Gulch". It is difficult to state simply the magnitude and importance of this event for the Gulch, along with other events, like the construction of the MAX Line, this is the biggest development event in the Gulch since the construction of Fred Meyer's, and certainly the biggest planning event to affect the Gulch since the construction of Lloyd Center. N/NE Quadrant Project Open House Wednesday, June 29, 2011 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Metro Regional Center Offices, 600 NE Grand, Council Chambers Some questions the open house will have for discussion and feedback include:
