Finally some action at 1100 NE 21st Ave.

The old warehouse on the north side of 21st at the bridge won't slide into the gulch after all.  Work finally on Tuesday to construct a retaining wall to provide a secure foundation for the building.  Workmen estimated it would take 2 weeks to get the supports in place and rebuild the south wall of the building

The warehouse (listed as a garage with the city) was built in 1923, but  The building was owned by an estate which had delayed over a year before deciding what to do.

Since the collapse, the location has been designated as unsafe for fire fighters to enter — the big U on the front of the building.  After the south wall collapsed the interior attracted many graffiti "artists" and was a fire and safety hazard.   When work finally began SGNA was in the process of notifying the city of our concerns.
